Online Autions and Deals
Finding great online auctions can be kind of tricky. Sure, you can go to eBay and start searching, but that takes time and doesn’t always give the best results. So how do you find them?
The first thing you want to do is know what you are looking for. Having an objective in mind helps a ton when finding a great aution online. For example, you might be searching for Webkinz. That’s fine, but which one are you looking for? Having a very specific search in mind is going to save you a lot of time filtering through the junk.
What about typos? Typos can save you a lot of money, but often times eBay is pretty good about finding typos via normal keyword searches, so it’s hard to say if that really helps a lot. However, every once in a while a typo will really come through for a big deal.
Comparison shop – do you compare the going rate on eBay to the normal price on Amazon.com or Buy.com? Guess what, most of the time eBay isn’t a whole lot cheaper than a normal ecommerce site. Go figure right? The worst culprits are the ridiculous popular items like the Nintendo Wii or Wii Fit. Those regularly seem to be out of stock in normal stores and go for a premium on eBay. Thus, if you want a good deal, rock the regular stores if possible.
